Infographics

This is my first stab at an Infographic. Here is a link to a Google doc of the same graphic which might allow better viewing: San Bernardino County Health Indicators Infographic

Thanks in advance for your feedback!

  1. Hi Karen,
Your infographic is really great. The information is clear, and the color progression from red to green is easy to understand. Well-done.

    1. Hi Karen,
Your infographic is informative and the color contrast you have used portrays each part uniquely. Initially I could not read the small prints but I like the fact that one can see things clearly by clicking to enlarge each section.
      Good job.
      Ugo.

  4. Good job Karen. You made a great color scheme (something I struggle with) and have a lot of information. Did you consider selecting a few common indicators form each category to use figure representation rather than all categories. You could keep working on this infographic to take it to great heights. Good work.

    1. Thanks Kevin.

I've received many compliments on my color scheme, but truthfully I took it straight from my reference website (http://www.healthysanbernardinocounty.org/modules.php?op=modload&name=NS-Indicator&file=index).

I wanted to look at the Health Indicators in a different way as the way it is presented it is spread over six screen views. I realize that I have a lot of data points, but an "average" of each sub-category would be meaningless. I didn't think about pulling out representative points.

I have seen lots of gorgeous Infographics that contain tons of data, so I know it can be done. But I am not sure what tool(s) to use.

  5. Don't you love our SB County website? Those indicators are great visuals. They probably paid someone with the money we were supposed to get for a raise 5 yrs ago! Just a joke! I have used this site extensively as well as the links it offers for additional resources. When I completed a Health Needs Assessment I also used a document called a CAFR. It is a fiscal report, but gives informative statistics and a snapshot of our County. I am waiting for the current issue, but have seen only 2010 so far. I think I love this kind of infographic where you eve can scan and discern the message quickly. If this old person feels that way, I am sure the younger generation would appreciate this type of information.

  6. Hi Karen,
Your blog is excellent, and reflects the hard work you put into it.
The colors are very nice. The content is easy to understand, and organized into 6 pages, which facilitates navigation.
The content is sourced appropriately. Though all of the the assignments are well done, the prezi resource stands out as informative and well-designed.
You can take pride in your blog.
